Thank you for your interest in Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) weight loss injections. Please note the self-referral portal is no longer available.

We have now received further information from NHS England and The National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE), on how, and when, Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) medication will be available for patients.

Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) will be rolled out in stages, through a phased approach, which means more people will be able to get the medicine over time. In phase 1, only people with the most serious health conditions will be able to get it on the NHS.

To be prescribed Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) you must:

  • Have a BMI of 40 or more, and
  • Have at least four or more of the following health conditions:
    • High blood pressure
    • High cholesterol or fats in your blood
    • Sleep apnoea (trouble breathing during sleep)
    • Heart disease
    • Type 2 diabetes

If you think you are eligible for Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) weight loss medicine, you can contact your GP practice after 23 June 2025. Please do not contact your GP about Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) before 23 June 2025 - as they won't be able to help before then.
